Suggested Time:

Sunset is my favorite time to shoot in the field so if you are doing two locations, I typically save this one for last. Golden hour and blue hour are so beautiful here!


This is actually my backyard so you will have access to changing in the house/bathroom if needed.

Woodberry Park

Woodberry, AR

Suggested Time:

1-2 hours before sunset. This will allow the light to shine through the trees and give that beautiful glow.

Moro Big Pine

Outside of Hampton, AR

Suggested Time:

Same as above! 1-2 hours before sunset. This will allow the light to shine through the trees and give that beautiful glow.


People can camp here, but it has been rare for me to see people here!

Downtown El Dorado

El Dorado, AR

Suggested Time:

I personally like about an hour or so before sunset, I love seeing the sunset on the buildings and playing with the light.

Tates Bluff

Chidester, AR

Suggested Time:

1-2 hour before sunset is my favorite but just about any time of day could be gorgeous! The walk down is in gravel so think about that when choosing shoes.


Around October is when it gets a bit to chilly to get in the water.

Dock

Chidester, AR

Suggested Time:

Just before sunset would be great for this area. Cloudy days we can shoot earlier.


Sometimes people are fishing here so it's not always just us.

  • usually pretty intimate

Beech Ridge Trail

Chidester, AR

Suggested Time:

Morning, afternoon, or a few hours before sunset would be great. There are tons of trees so they block the sun out pretty well.


This is a public trail so there may be other hikers, especially on the weekend.

Features:

  • 4 minute walk from trail head
  • wooden path
  • nice lighting
  • nature


Poison Springs

Near Chidester, AR

Suggested Time:

1-2 hours before sunset would be nice. This was around an hour before sunset and the light was so pretty.


There has been no one here the few times I've driven by, but it is a public area!

Features:

  • historic
  • tall pine trees
  • there is a hiking trail, I didn't have time to explore it


Capitol Building

Little Rock, AR

Suggested Time:

Have to go during office hours!

8am to 5pm, Weekdays

10am to 3pm, Weekends

10am-3pm, State Holidays

  • gorgeous interior and exterior
  • usually not crowded
  • no entrance free

The Old Mill

North Little Rock, AR

Suggested Time:

Open from 8am to sunset, during the spring and summer this place can get really packed!

Free entrance!

Wildwood Park for the Arts

Little Rock, AR

Suggested Time:

During work hours, but close to sunset at the gazebo is so beautiful!

Monday-Friday: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am to 5:00pm

Sunday: 12:00pm to 5:00pm

Free entrance!
